All our guides, especially in Moscow were first class, and paid a lot of attention to our needs. So smart it was difficult to keep up from time to time, but so sincerely wanting to give us information was great.
The lectures on the cruise were the best I have ever had, and shaped my vision of Russia so well that I want to do editing for the guide. I hope she lets me. I think the lectures were the highlight for me, but then I liked lectures all through school x 3 degrees, so that might just be me.
Food was great, better than I have had in some restaurants. Breads and pastries were to die for. Salads were the best.
Island choices, I guess were what is available. But please do not say ATM's are everywhere. They are no where at all. Once on the ship the potential for getting money was almost none. Please tell people to have money changed before the sailing. Ship has no money. We were all crazed!
Appointments were fine, bathroom and all rooms very clean at all times, and boat is otherwise very presentable. I was in a huge forward room, and it was sumptuous.
All in all I want to come back, both in Moscow and certainly in St Pete. I loved the Volga Dream, the Russian people, the dignity of them, the civility of them, and I have just ordered three more books on Peter, and the Romanov family. I want to come back, but this time only in the cities. Thanks for it all.
